BATON ROUGE, La. - iSportsWire -- The 6th Annual A Taste of the Deep South Festival (aka Henry Turner Jr. Day) is pleased to announce the talent lineup and sponsors for the November 3, 5 and 6 dates. The Pre-Party on November 3 at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room is a sneak peek at some of the performers playing at the festival they include Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, the Listening Room All-Stars and members of the Phoenix Rouge and Shakshuka Belly Dance troupes. The event is scheduled from 7pm to midnight at 2733 North Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Admission is $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door, includes a down home style buffet. No-host bar.

A Taste of the Deep South Festival takes place at Riverfront Plaza on November 5 and 6 from 12noon to 8pm. It features various genres of music and international cultural dancers as well as a Vendor's Village with arts and crafts, clothing and jewelry and an International Food Court with southern and ethnic foods. Talent expected to appear on blues greats Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor and SmokeHouse Porter and Miss Mamie, along with Listening Room All-Stars Kelton 'Npsire Harper and the Inspiration Band, Owen Scott, Pastor Leon Hitchens, comedian Eddie "Cool" Deemer, the My Better Half Band, Katrina and Xavie Shorts. Additional local and regional acts include Mz. Pat-The Lady of Soul, the Phoenix Rouge and Shakshuka Belly Dance Troupes, solo dancer Nan Catherine Kasey Ball Presents Soul Loops and the rock band Code Black. Touring acts are the bluegrass' Captain Ledge Band from Oklahoma, folk and Americana acts Wild Rabbit Salad from Texas and J.C. Tokes from North Carolina, Special Olympian and Motivational Rapper Priceless Lion from Nebraska, Mona Lisa and Lady J with their Tina Turner and Diana Ross tributes from California and Saturday's closing act R&B singer Akeylah Simone from Virginia.
