MIAMI - iSportsWire -- Oscar Amuz, founder of Autism Soccer, is excited to announce that he is traveling to Hiroshima, Japan, to participate in the 6th Annual Genius Cup, taking place on April 2. Although we could not secure funding to bring the entire team this year, Mr. Amuz is determined to represent Autism Soccer and lay the groundwork for future participation.

This event marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time a U.S. team has been represented at the Genius Cup since its inception. The Genius Cup, hosted by the Japan Developmental Support Football Association (JDSFA), provides children and students with developmental or intellectual disabilities the opportunity to showcase the results of their daily physical therapy through friendly matches in a supportive and joyful environment.

Mr. Amuz attended the 5th Annual Genius Cup in 2024 as a guest of JDSFA, where he was deeply impressed by the event's organization and the curriculum designed to engage autistic youth through sports. "I am honored to represent Autism Soccer at the Genius Cup this year. My hope is that by April 2026, we can bring the first Autism Soccer team to Hiroshima, with the support of our community and advocates," said Mr. Amuz.
