Junior 2B from Odessa, N.Y. Second in NCAA in batting, on-base pct.
CALDWELL, N.J. - iSportsWire -- Caldwell University junior 2B Grace Vondracek (Odessa, N.Y.) today was named Honorable Mention Softball All-America by the Division II National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (D2CCA).
Vondracek, a D2CCA and NFCA First Team All-Region selection, leads the CACC and ranks second in batting, finishing the season at .493. Her on-base percentage of .576 is also tops in the league and second in the NCAA, and her 56 runs scored are most in the conference and top 20 in the country per game. In her first year at the Division II level, Vondracek reached base by hit or walk in all but five games all season, and had multiple hits 23 times, including four, four-hit contests. Vondracek was also a second-team All-CACC selection
Vondracek was joined on the D2CCA First Team All-East by junior shortstop Ashleigh Tavaska (Jackson, N.J.) and freshman catcher Taylor Quinn (Colonie, N.Y.), as announced earlier this month.

The mission of the CCA is to encourage and promote Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics. The CCA works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities, and serves as a voice to the NCAA representing those schools.
