They Have Already Smashed Existing Records for Athletes Over 50

WASHINGTON - iSportsWire -- More than a dozen college athletes, all born after the year 2000, have been found qualified to compete in the Senior Olympics even though the events are limited to those 50 years of age and older, and these college age transsenior athletes have already smashed existing Senior Olympic records in each sport in which they are being permitted to compete.

Those who object and argue that it is unfair to permit athletes in their early 20s to compete against those who are some 50 years older have been shouted down, branded as "ageists," "ageophobes," "senior haters," etc., and attacked on the Internet, because they refuse to recognize the concept of age identity, along with the dignity of young people who claim to believe that they are much older, and simply wish to live and be treated as elderly folks in their twilight years.

Supporters argue that excluding transage people [transseniors and transchildren) from competition would be marginalizing them, if not denying their very existence.  They also point to laws prohibiting discrimination based upon age.

Trying to define their age for athletic competition based upon an arbitrary date upon which they are born (like their sex arbitrarily assigned at birth) - rather than by how they claim to feel today - is illogical and unfair, and likely to cause many to commit suicide, they say.

Forcing senior citizens to compete against college athletes in their prime has resulted in many serious permanent injuries to the older Americans.

The events described above obviously never occurred because they would be illogical and unfair, but those same situations, complaints, and arguments are occurring with regard to males who insist upon being able to compete against females simply because they claim - with no medical proof or other documentation - to be female.

This is true even when the male competitors make no attempt whatsoever to present themselves as female; including for example, M2F transsexual athletes who compete with a full beard. So unless society is ready to permit young college age athletes claiming to feel old to compete in events restricted to senior (>50) or even elderly (85-89) competitors, or can persuasively explain why restricting competitions to older people is not only OK but widely accepted whereas restricting competitions to females is not OK, perhaps the overwhelming majority of Americans who oppose forcing girls and women to compete against boys and men are correct, suggests Banzhaf.
