HEREFORD, U.K. - iSportsWire -- Dr Joe Oliver and the Contextual Consulting team are supporting the Developing Nations Training Fund by running a webinar for health and social care professionals, community support workers and spiritual carers who support people with major life crises. Their workshop, Facing the Storm, is being presented by Dr Ray Owen who is an expert working with palliative care patients and people facing chronic illness or disability.

It's a fact of life that bad things happen, and often they are totally beyond our control.  "That doesn't mean you have to be helpless" says Dr Ray "no matter how bad the situation you're about to deal with, there are things you can do to cope with life better". The things you can control are how you can make sense of it, make the best decisions, deal with other people and cope with the emotional turmoil.

Ray has many years' experience of counselling people from all walks of life who are facing life -threatening illness or about to start palliative care. He will share his knowledge during the webinar. Participants will all receive a free copy of his eBook, Facing the Storm, which was shortlisted for the BMA Popular Medicine Book of the Year Award.

During the webinar, Ray will provide examples of proven, simple techniques drawn from CBT, ACT and Mindfulness traditions that can help those in crisis. There will be examples of how their Facing the Storm book can be used as 'guided self-help'.  Attendees don't need any prior knowledge of psychology and, should they miss the webinar due to a last-minute clash, there will be a recording made available to them.
