Atlanta Division for Award-Winning National Homebuilder Collected Nonperishable Food and Frozen Turkeys to Feed Those in Need as Part of 2023 Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive
ATLANTA - iSportsWire -- After issuing a call for donations for its annual "Giving Thanks, Giving Back" Thanksgiving Drive, David Weekley Homes – Atlanta Division collected 1,889 nonperishable food items and 2,114 pounds of frozen turkeys to support those in need. The grand total of 3,614 pounds of food was delivered to Making A Way Housing – a charitable organization that bridges the gap in the continuum of care for homeless individuals in Atlanta who are in recovery. $1,200 in cash donations were also made to the nonprofit. A hefty donation of $12,500 from the Dovetail Foundation – the philanthropic arm of the award-winning homebuilder – will purchase new appliances for an apartment building that is part of Making A Way's transitional housing program.

"From veggies, pastas, and soups to coffee, cake mixes, and more, our donors really came through for those in need this holiday season, and we are so grateful," said Adam Cornett, Atlanta Division President for David Weekley Homes. "With the exception of the 151 frozen turkeys that were delivered to our Roswell headquarters on the final day of the drive, most of the nonperishable food items were delivered through our Amazon wish list. The remainder were dropped off at our model homes throughout metro Atlanta. I know I speak for my whole team when I say we are so honored to work for a company that places such a high value on giving back. We can't think of a better way to kick off the holiday season than to fill a Ryder truck with food and bring some holiday cheer to our neighbors in need."
David Weekley Homes – Atlanta Division – which was named the 2022 Builder Volunteer of the Year by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association – partnered with HomeAid Atlanta to identify Making A Way Housing as its 2023 Thanksgiving charity to benefit from the annual food drive. In addition to Atlanta, David Weekley Homes hosts its national "Giving Thanks, Giving Back" Thanksgiving Drive in 18 other markets throughout the U.S. annually.
