Read Across America was established in 1998 to get children excited about reading in honor of Dr Seuss' Birthday. Read to Succeed Project goal is to give away Alex The Hippo (4) Book-set to 200 children in underserved communities.
In the United States, more than 60% of low-income families have no children's books in their home. "I am a firm believer in students boundless potential to become avid readers.It's vital to introduce hard cover books to children. Getting books into homes is an inexpensive way to help children succeed, said author Adam Ybarra." "Homes with no books equate to below average literacy skills."
