OKLAHOMA CITY - iSportsWire -- Mustang Elite Track Club athletes delivered an impressive start to the 2026 outdoor track and field season at the Midwest City meet on March 7, posting multiple personal records and several top rankings across Oklahoma's Class 6A division.
Leading the way was Jonathan McCorvey, who captured 1st place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.45. The performance currently ranks 2nd in the state of Oklahoma and 1st in the Class 6A division, establishing McCorvey as an early contender for the state title this outdoor season.
McCorvey continued his strong day by competing in the 300-meter hurdles, where he recorded a personal record of 41.49, placing him 8th overall in Class 6A statewide rankings.
Strong Performances Across the Hurdle Squad
Fellow Mustang Elite athlete Zachary Kitchen also opened the outdoor season with a breakthrough performance. Kitchen clocked a personal best of 39.58 in the 300-meter hurdles, which currently ranks 2nd in the state of Oklahoma. He also competed in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 15.78.

Kingsley Njifunuh continued to demonstrate his versatility across multiple events. Njifunuh posted a 14.90 in the 110-meter hurdles, ranking 5th in Oklahoma, and followed it with a personal best of 41.07 in the 300-meter hurdles, placing him 6th statewide.
In addition to his hurdle performances, Njifunuh competed in the long jump, recording a mark of 21 feet, 8 inches, which currently ranks 4th in Oklahoma.
Momentum Building for the Outdoor Season
With multiple athletes already posting top-10 statewide marks and several personal records in the first outdoor meet of the year, Mustang Elite Track Club is building strong momentum heading into the heart of the 2026 track and field season.
The early results highlight the program's continued emphasis on speed development, technical hurdling, and explosive power across sprint and field events.
