4-Time Hall of Famer Has Harsh Words and a Warning for His Opponent!
WATERLOO, Iowa - iSportsWire -- Professional wrestling's original "Mr. Wonderful" and 4-time Hall of Famer, Rock Riddle, took complete control of our interview.
"The legend versus legend match was all set," complained a red-faced Riddle. "I was supposed to have the rematch of the century," he blurted. "The rematch to end all rematches! Jerry 'The King' Lawler vs. Rock 'Mr. Wonderful' Riddle! I packaged it and handed it – the opportunity of a lifetime – to the promoter, and he did exactly what most wrestling promoters do. He screwed it up."
Promoter Troy Peterson, owner of Impact Pro Wrestling, shook his head. "Rock Riddle lives in his own world," Peterson explained. "The simple reality is that Jerry Lawler was not cleared to compete."

"I signed the contract!" the highly irritated Riddle bellowed.
"Yes, and that contract includes a substitution clause in case either party is not medically cleared," Peterson explained.
Riddle snapped "Where in this universe can you find a legend on Lawler's or my level? It's not possible!"
"What about a legend versus a champion?" the promoter asked.
Riddle tilted his head and stared at promoter Troy Peterson. "Which champion?" Riddle asked pensively.
"Mr. Riddle, you will be wrestling the Impact Pro Wrestling Champion James Jeffries!"
Riddle stormed out of the room. It was a full seventeen minutes before he returned. He finally acknowledged the reporters.
They asked how he felt about wrestling the champion.
"What do you mean?" Riddle asked. "The champion of golly, gee whiz Iowa and surrounding fly-over states? The big fish in the little pond? He's a kid, a punk. Yes, he's an extremely talented wrestler, but let's face it – He will never be on my level! Never! I'm 100% old school. There's no way some new punk wrestler can compete with this vastly superior old school legend."

"Final words? Sure," Riddle continued. "I'll give Jeffries a much-needed wrestling lesson and feast on the tears of his little fans. This will absolutely be a history-making match! Only one of us will walk away with my head held high." [editor's note: he did say "my"]
The Riddle/Jeffries match will take place on July 20, 2024, at the Waterloo Convention Center, one of many highlights at the annual George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies and corresponding Dan Gable Museum events.
