Hunters Run's Newest Pro Tennis Twins…It's Point, Set, Match!
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - iSportsWire -- Yannick Noah, the revered tennis professional, once likened tennis to a battleground where gladiators wield racquets and courage as their weapons. Little did he know that at Hunters Run, residents would witness not one but two such gladiators standing side by side on the court—and they're formidable not just in skill but also in appearance.
Director of Tennis at Hunters Run, Eric Faro, expresses his enthusiasm, "We are privileged to welcome two exceptionally talented individuals to our instructional tennis team. Max and SJ (Sjoerd) Nijssen have injected new energy into our program, offering expertise in technique, strategy, footwork, and more to all age groups. They cater to every tennis enthusiast. And yes, they happen to be identical twins!"

The tennis twins, Max and SJ (Sjoerd) Nijssen, embarked on their tennis journey in the Netherlands at the tender age of four. After a hiatus in their early teens, they returned to the court with renewed vigor. Their skills earned them scholarships to a Division 2 school in Kentucky, marking the beginning of their journey in the United States, which now finds them at this Boynton Beach Country Club community.
"Hunters Run is such a great experience for us," says SJ. "Since graduating, we've been traveling the East Coast of the States, mostly instructing kids. Hunters Run gave us the opportunity to impart our knowledge and experience to a whole new audience. It's the most fun we've had so far. The residents are fantastic, welcoming us and having fun during clinics and lessons."
Max adds, "Eric has been wonderful to work with at Hunters Run. He's become a mentor, teaching us how to conduct proper lessons to a community of over 200 tennis players. We are literally busy every day dealing with individuals, team players, and guests during the season. We encounter different styles, strategies, and abilities. We love it!"

And the community has embraced the twins, not only as tennis pros but as individuals. Faro says, "What's so amazing about the boys is that they are not only great tennis players, but they can also instruct anyone who comes to the club. They do an outstanding job and bring a lot of energy to the courts. In fact, people come down to watch them, hit with them, talk with them, and hang out with them."
Hunters Run boasts 18 Har-Tru tennis courts.
When asked about their favorite tennis players, Max favors Novak Djokovic. He says, "He plays the most complete game, even at age 37." But for SJ, it's Andy Murray. "He fights for every point and is still competing. I love his fighting spirit."
