MIDDLESBROUGH, U.K. - iSportsWire -- Paul 'Magic Man' Merson is returning to Middlesbrough as the community ambassador of The Wired Lobby, which will support exciting esports projects as part of their commitment to local communities within the Tees Valley.
Discussions have already begun between key local organisations and businesses which are coming together to offer something different for some of the more challenging areas of the community. As an organisation, The Wired Lobby is perfectly positioned to offer the local areas an opportunity to experience esports and the variety of spin offs the sector brings. With gaming and its related activities, there are so many doors that can be opened for education leading to professional pathways for both the young and old, regardless of their current academic standing.
The world of esports and gaming has usurped the film and music industry in terms of annual revenue and the official Olympic Esports Series (OES) has just begun, which demonstrates just how big the sector is.

Esports is the fastest growing sector in the world, with a huge fan base, many titles enjoy tens of millions of viewers with the biggest games attracting over 100's of millions.
"When we were discussing local community projects, we immediately thought of Paul, there could not be a bigger and better ambassador for the people in this region. I am not sure on his skill levels on FIFA, I very much doubt they will get anywhere near his performances which earned him the name 'The Magic Man' but he will certainly be a big hit with so many of the locals.
As soon as Paul was approached, he was extremely enthusiastic and committed to supporting our community projects and we are thrilled he took up the post", said Edwin Ford, Managing Director of The Wired Lobby (https://www.thewiredlobby.co.uk/).
